Maternity

One of the greatest gifts life has to offer

FAQ

When should I book my maternity session?

Usually, booking takes place in the second trimester to secure a session date before your due date. Summer and fall months are particularly busier.

When should my maternity session take place?

Everyone and every pregnancy is different but typically I suggest your session take place around 30-36 weeks. Generally, this is the perfect time frame since you will be less likely to be too swollen or uncomfortable at this point in your pregnancy. Your belly will be nice and round and most likely hasn't dropped yet as baby gets ready for birth. The exception to this rule is if you are carrying twins or multiples in which case you may want to consider doing your session even earlier in your second trimester.

How should I dress for my session?

However you feel most beautiful and comfortable! I am able to make suggestions and provide info on specific dresses/outfits past clients have worn if needed. I also provide a complimentary style guide.

When is the best time of day to schedule my session?

Early morning or late afternoon are the best times for portrait photography. I like to avoid midday if possible. This is due to the sun's position in the sky. Unless it Is an overcast day, midday often creates unflattering shadows. Most clients opt for "golden hour" so we can capture those beautiful, warm sunset photos directly before the sun goes down.

I don’t feel very confident in front of the camera, is that ok?

This is a very common concern from clients but there is no need to worry, I will demonstrate poses to help you and your bump look your best. I promise you won't regret having beautiful photographs to look back on your pregnancy!

Should I bring any props to my session?

The only thing I ask clients to bring is their ultrasound images. There are many cute poses incorporating the images of your little one. Any additional props are optional, please let me know if you plan to bring anything you wish to incorporate in your session.
