When should I book my cake smash session?
The sooner the better! My cake smash sessions are fully custom so it takes me time to design the perfect set up as well as make/buy any supplies or props. Booking well ahead of your little ones first birthday also ensures I have session availability. I also am able to offer a payment plan when booked early.
When should the cake smash take place?
Typically, a cake smash session is done at around 11 months old. Most clients plan to print and display their images at their child's birthday party so you want to give adequate time for editing and then printing after you have had your session. If you do not plan on displaying prints at your party, these sessions can be done anytime you would like.
Can I choose my own theme?
Yes! This is one of my favorite parts of cake smash planning. You can choose a theme that fits your child’s personality, interests, nursery, or birthday party. you do NOT have to choose from a theme I have done before.I can also help with ideas if you aren’t sure where to start.
Do you offer simple cake smash setups?
Absolutely! A cake smash doesn’t have to be an elaborate theme. I offer cake smash mini sessions that include a solid color backdrop, balloon arch, and a cake stand/highchair.
What if my baby doesn’t like the cake?
That’s completely okay! Every cake smash is different and not every baby dives right into their cake. I always suggest doing a trial cupcake before your session so that your child will be more familiar with the taste and texture for their session. I also offer a custom cake smash spoon with every session, which helps with little ones who prefer not to get their hands dirty.
